I’m a freelance journalist and digital media specialist, based in London and very happy to travel to wherever the story is.
I write mainly for The Independent, where I won my first job as a journalist and spent my twenties. Recent features include work on food, feminism, astrology, Donald Trump and ultra-running.
I joined The Independent in 2004 and have reported from Brazil, Tanzania, Iceland, Argentina and the US. My work has been published in The Independent and Independent on Sunday, The Guardian, The Times, The Financial Times, The Evening Standard, The Lady, The New Statesman, lovefood.com and The Ecologist. I am especially interested in food history and ethics, as well as cooking and eating food.
I have expertise in web development projects, editorial strategy, content localisation and production, communications and brand development. Contact me at sophielouisemorris@gmail.com if you want to discuss working together.
I also teach and am currently an Associate Lecturer in Journalism at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
